Lucky Chucky Tour: Life Inside Old Joliet Prison
Charles “Lucky Chucky” Hojnacki was once incarcerated at Old Joliet Prison. Like many who were once incarcerated, Hojnacki worked hard to turn his life following a youth defined by gang activity, arrests and incarceration. Following a near-death experience in drug deal gone bad, he vowed not only to never return to prison, but to keep others from returning.
Following his own educational path to become a certified machinist, Hojnacki began encouraging others – especially young offenders - to break their own cycles by embarking on GED courses and vocational training. As a result of his efforts to assist fellow incarcerated individuals with employment opportunities, he received an Individual Achievement Award from the State of Illinois. Wear your walking shoes! This tour take about 90 minutes. Guests can expect to walk about 1.5 miles.
Available on May 10 and and May 25.
