In 2018, hundreds of people from the greater Joliet community volunteered time towards the stabilization and planning for the Prison site. All told, we logged over 6,500 volunteer hours. As of May 18th, we have surpassed 1,500 hours in 2019. Do you want to be part of this ongoing community-wide effort?

Weekly Community Volunteer Days take place on site every Saturday morning from 8 am – 12pm. Help clean up the property and continue work to stabilize remaining buildings on the property. Work shoes, work clothes, and sunscreen are recommended.  You can sign up by clicking on this link – SIGN UP NOW.

Must be age 18 or older to participate in clean up. You will be provided with water. Toilets are available on site. Parking in main Prison lot off Collins street.

We look forward to seeing you on one or more Saturdays! For questions, please email ojpvolunteer@gmail.com.
